Dusted off and revised 4 stories in the course of the afternoon and early evening. Busy is as busy does, no? I’ll be submitting them over the next few hours before bed. I also managed to put the finishing 450 words to a story that I had been struggling to complete for the last year. Odd how the brain works. I still have two other stories I want to work on tonight, but Time being what it is, and my energy level waning, I may end up revisiting them in the morning. All in all, productively creative day!
Making Time To Be Creative
There has to be more to it than this. I often think that on days when the drudgery of health care and the fatigue that can only come from putting other people’s needs ahead of my own for years and years outpaces my mental defenses. On days like these, I am left with very little reserve. Very little energy left for creativity. And yet, it is on these specific days when creativity has the most to offer. It is when there is little left in the tank to burn that creativity can refill that and make the way forward possible. I forget that sometimes. Today, I was reminded. And it has made all the difference.
